An ongoing series of work exploring the idea of boundary; an edge, border, barrier, gap, interval. A physical change of level, habitat, space. A perceived change in character, experience, mood, spirit. Political, legal, geographical boundaries to delineate, contain, enclose; or obstruct, defend, barricade. Edges; where activity, diversity, convergence, friction occurs. The edge of the canvas or paper is where the energy and tension lies. Horizon line; where sky and land meet.
Materials and methods used vary within this series from small illustrative acrylic & ink paintings depicting forest horizons/edges, to larger abstract oils exploring spatial and formal properties of ‘boundary’.
